Caption | "Ramsay, who graduated from Marischal College in 1673, was Rector of the parish of Christ Church in Barbados. Through his will in 1727 he left funding for the establishment of a Chair of Oriental Languages at Marischal College. The first professor, James Donaldson, was appointed in 1732. He also founded bursaries in the arts and divinity."
