| Brief Description | Official box containing Professor Ogston's O.B.E medals. The box contains two medals one large hallmarked silver medal attached to a purple bow and ribbon. This medal has a circle centre 'For God and the Empire' and there are four section to make a cross. The other medal is a smaller example but in gold(?) with a red and white ribbon. The box is purple and has the insciption 'O.B.E' on the exterior. The interior has a place for the larger medal but not the smaller as though they are not supposed to be boxed together. The interior also shows the makers mark 'Garrad & Co Ltd by special appointment His Majesty the King, 24 Albemarle St London & Dalhousie sq, Calcutta. |
