| Activity | John Duncan, RSA RSW (d 1945), decorative artist, was born in Dundee and educated in Dundee, London and Dusseldorf. He began his career as a book and magazine illustrator and then executed decorative paintings in University Hall, Edinburgh. After a period as Associate Professor at Chicago University, 1901-1904, he went on to develop a career as a decorative artist producing paintings and stained glass. His work was purchased for the Permanent Gallery of Dundee, Glasgow Corporation and the Royal Scottish Academy. |
