ActivityPantheon Debating Society was established in Edinburgh and was active 1773-1779. The members met fortnightly and were allowed to admit 4 guests. New members had to be voted for unanimously. Each member had to contribute to the topic under discussion at least once a month. They had to take a turn at being the President who acted as treasurer, and the Clerk, who took the the tickets at the door. From 1773-1791 there were 21 honorary members elected. It was proposed in 1779 the Prize medals be awarded annually to the best speakers. Collections were taken at each meeting and donations were given to charity.
