Activity | Lucy Sanderson Cottage Homes were built in memory of Mrs James Sanderson (d 1925), who used to regularly visit the elderly and sick in their own homes. The Homes were opened in 1933 and were built as 16 semi-detached cottages of whin stone, with a four warded sick bay, Matron's accommodation, a hall, and a clock tower. In 1960 the sick bay was turned into several studio flats and the complex is still occupied today. |
