| Activity | Melrose Literary Society was reformed in 1904 as the Melrose Literary and Debating Society. The previous society of the same name had lapsed some time after 1896. The new club was identical in its functions and has been treated as a continuation of the previous society which had been set up at some time before 1891. The Society is still active at present. |
