Brief Description | Seated plaster sculpture of a Nandi Bull (Hindu Deity) on a rectangular base. The bull sits with right foreleg tucked under, and left foreleg resting on the ground in front, as if the bull is about to stand up. The bull features a circular headrress which attaches under and around the ears, and a decorative hardness which is looped around the neck, and the rump of the animal. This plaster cast is likely a copy from a known Shiva Temple in India, however its current provenance is unknown. The figure has been painted dark blue, orange, brown, dark purple and green, with modern gloss paints. |
