Brief DescriptionThe Work is composed of two curved columns of stainless steel and two human figures in cast aluminium. On top of one of the columns is a figure of stainless steel. Another figure of the same cast stands on the ground in front of the other identical column and is reflected in it. The curved shape of the columns relates to the curved roof line of the Sports Village complex. The columns and their shape are also reminiscent of waves of the North Sea close by. In addition, the shape hints at movement and a dynamic feeling of continuity. The surface of the columns is reflective and gives the feeling of stream, water and air. This rhymes with the building itself. Because of the height of the columns, they reflect the sky. The figures, one high up in the air and the other firmly standing on the ground, also give the feeling of movement from one place to another.
DimensionsHeight: same as the height of the entrance building. The figures are life size and the columns are c. 7 meters high. The width of each column is 90 cm x 50 cm.
