Activity | William Morris Colles graduated BA from Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and became a barrister in the Inner Temple in 1880. In 1890, disturbed at the inability of authors to negotiate contracts for their work, he founded the Authors’ Syndicate which acted as agent for authors. In the same year he was a member of the council of the Society of Authors. Remaining in London for most of his life, he wrote several articles on copyright law. He died in 1926. |
