ActivityDonald Macleod was born in 1831 in Campsie, a son of Norman Macleod, DD, Dean of the Chapel Royal. He was educated at Glasgow University, graduating BA in 1851, was licenced in 1885, and ordained to Lauder parish in 1858. He moved to Linlithgow in 1862, and moved again to The Park parish, Glasgow, in 1869. Glasgow University awarded him a DD in 1876. He was Moderator of the General Assembly in 1895 but is best remembered as the editor of Good Words, a post he held from 1872 to 1905. He retired from his parish in 1909, and died in 1916.
