ActivityArchibald Campbell Tait was born in Edinburgh in 1811 and was educated at Glasgow and Oxford Universities. He belonged to the Anglican Church and was ordained in 1836, and was appointed Master of Rugby School in 1842. He served there until he moved to Carlisle to be Dean in 1849, then accepted the See of London in 1856. He was promoted to be Archbishop of Canterbury in 1869, and died in 1882.
