ActivityGeorge Donald Valentine was born in Girvan, Ayrshire, in 1877, and educated at Glasgow University and Trinity College, Cambridge. He was admitted advocate in 1903. He married Edith Jane Mitchell. In 1913 he was appointed interim Sheriff-Substitute in Ayr, then moved to the same post in Elgin, then in Airdrie. He wrote poetry and articles on jurisprudence. Retiring to Edzell, he died in 1946.
