ActivityThis was proposed in 1929 when a committee was formed under a suggestion at the AGM of Boswall Tennis Club. Shares were issued to members and funds were raised by whist drives and voluntary contributions. A grant and lease of ground was evetually secured from Edinburgh Corporation following lengthy negotiations. The club was founded in May 1930 and the green was laid out by the Parks Department with play commencing in the following year when the pavilion and green was opened on 11 June 1932. The pavilion was designed by the architects Nelson Fyfe and Wilson and the builders were Thomson and Inglis, Granton. The opening was performed by Bailie Nelson who was the club's first honorary member.
