ActivityFanny Bullock Workman (1859-1925), travel writer and mountain climber, was born in Worcester, Massachussetts in 1859, the daughter of Governor Alexander Hamilton Bullock. In 1881 she married Dr William Hunter Workman, a prominent physician. Together they travelled the world, cycling, climbing mountains, making maps and scientific observations, particularly in the Himalayas. They wrote about their travels and discoveries and Fanny also lectured on them to the Royal Geographical Society in November 1905. She died in 1925.
