James Douglas Hamilton Dickson (1849-1931), Senior Fellow of Peterhouse, is best known for his work on electricity and thermodynamics, his son, John Douglas Hamilton Dickson, WS, was president of the Edinburgh Bach Society and chairman of the Reid Symphony Orchestra, amongst other musical interests.
