ActivityRonald Center (1913-1973), musician and composer, was born in 2 April 1913 in Sunnybank, Aberdeen. He trained as a pianist and choral conductor and taught himself musical composition. In 1943 he married Evelyn Morison, a soprano from Rothimay and they moved to Huntly where Ronald taught art at the Gordon's Schools as well as privately teaching piano. He died in Huntly in April 1973. His musical compositions were rediscovered and celebrated only after his death due to the efforts of his widow, Evelyn. He posthumously became known as 'the Scots Barock' and his work was performed internationally.
