Activity | Burns Cottage, Alloway, the birthplace of Robert Burns (1759-1796), poet, has been restored and now forms part of the Burns National Heritage Park, which has a museum, modern visitor centre and a heritage trail with locations featured in some of Burns' more well known poems and songs. The cottage was built in 1757 by Robert Burns' father, William Burnes. The Museum holds a collection of manuscripts, artefacts and memorabilia. |
