| Activity | George Chrystal, MA LL D (1851-1911), mathematician, was born in Aberdeenshire and educated at Aberdeen Grammar School, and the Universities of Aberdeen and Cambridge. He was a Fellow and Lecturer at Corpus Christi, Cambridge and Professor of Mathematics at St Andrews University and, from 1879, at Edinburgh University. Chrystal was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1880 and was Secretary from 1901-1911. |
