Activity | William Mathie Parker was born in Renfrewshire in 1891 and was educated at Glasgow Academy and Glasgow University. He was the author of 'Modern Scottish Writers', 'On the Track of the Wessex Novels' and 'Witching Willow', and the co-author of 'The Life of Sir John Scott, Editor, Travellor, Author (1784-1821)' with D A Low. Parker was Assistant Editor of the centenary edition of the letters of Sir Walter Scott. His numerous contributions to 'The Times Literary Supplement', 'Chambers Journal', 'Cornhill Magazine' and various other periodicals included articles on Sir Walter Scott and Thomas Cochrane, 10th Earl of Dundonald. |
