ActivityThe Associated Iron Moulders of Scotland was established in 1831. Until 1869 it was known as the Scottish Iron Moulders’ Union. It was instituted to legitimately secure for its members a fair value for their labour, without injury to the rights of employers. Also, to provide sick, out of work and dispute pay, and funeral allowances. It amalgamated with the Friendly Society of Ironfounders and the Amalgamated Coremakers Society in 1920, under the name of National Union of Foundry Workers of Great Britain and Ireland.
