ActivityFritx Ilx was born in Breslau, Germany, in 1916. He served with the German air force from 1930 to 1944 and was captured in January 1944 by American forces. He was sent to Camp Carson, Colorado, and then transferred in 1946 to Castle Rankine Camp. From there he worked at Bonnyhill Farm, Bonnybridge, Falkirk, and after he was formally discharged in 1948 he remained in Bonnybridge. He was previously married in Germany and had children, who made contact through the Red Cross in the 1950s but he lost contact with them. He died in 1998.
