ActivityMrs Jane Anne Duthie, née Farquhar, was commonly called Jean by her friends and relatives. She lived at Dun Cottage, Montrose for many years until the death of her husband in 1914. She moved to 28 Dalhousie Place, Arbroath thereafter. She had three children, Henry Duthie (who died aged 23 in 1905), Emma Duthie (who became a teacher) and Nellie Duthie. Mrs Duthie was also a writer. Some of her articles were published in the People’s Journal. She also published two books of poetry, 'Rhymes and Reminiscences' and 'War Rhymes'.
