| Activity | The Committee established the first Public Library in Carnoustie in 1947 at 107 High Street. Previously a library service had been provided by Angus County in Carnoustie Public School. The County branch librarian, Magdalene Gourlay, was appointed the first public librarian. The library had over 1,000 books in circulation within its first year. |
