ActivityIsa Cunningham lived in the Clydesdale Bank House, Brechin, where her father was the bank manager. She was engaged to Charles Jamieson, a Brechin man who worked in London. Theirs was a long-distance engagement. The romance was kept alive by the mail. Isa wrote Charles 30-page letters almost every week. She kept him informed of local events and friends plus the progress of arrangements for the wedding and which presents they had received. Charles and Isa married on 1 June 1915 in Glasgow and honeymooned at Lake Windermere. They took up residence in London but made many long visits to Brechin in the summer months. They had at least two surviving children including Betty who was born about 1919 and whose letters to her father have also survived.
