ActivityThe Rotary Club International was founded in Chicago on 23 February 1905, although it did not have that name from the start. As the club grew, they rotated their meetings amongst members' businesses leading to the adoption of the name. They aimed to promote fellowship amongst members of the business community, to promote the ideal of service in the lives of members and to promote the adoption of high ethical standards in business life. The Arbroath Rotary Club is still in existence and meetings are held at the Hotel Seaforth on Thursday evenings.
