ActivityJames Scott Skinner was a violinist. He was born in Banchory in 1843 and was involved with music from an early age, playing in the local dance bands by the age of seven and joining Dr. Marks' Touring Orchestra of Musical Orphans aged 12. He spent most of his life touring both the UK and the USA. He lived in Monikie for a number of years, and died in 1927.
