EpithetForfar Branch
ActivityThe Scottish/Polish Society thrived in Forfar due to the large population of Polish immigrants who left Poland before the Second World War broke out. They were expected to return to Poland once the war was over but many stayed and their descendants are still in the area. The Society was set up to promote better understanding between the two communities and to allow Forfar residents to learn Polish and to aid the war effort.
