ActivityJohn Davidson, born around 1846, was educated at Aberdeen Grammar School and Aberdeen University, though he did not graduate. He was a grandson of Charles Davidson, founder of Mugiemoss Paper Works, and son of William Davidson, one of Charles Davidson’s sons whom he brought in to be a partner in the business, Messrs Charles Davidson and Sons Limited. John Davidson and his four brothers were all in turn partners, though two brothers died young. John Davidson was in charge of the paper manufacturing part of an increasingly large concern. He was also a director of the North of Scotland Bank and of the Aberdeen Steam Navigation Company. He served both as a JP and as Captain in the 1st Aberdeenshire Volunteer Royal Engineers. He died without issue in 1897.
