ActivityIn 1930 the North Aberdeen Unionist Association was disbanded and reformed to fulfil a more active role. Though the president, the male and female vice presidents, the treasurer and the secretary were elected volunteers, the organiser received a salary. Great care was taken to ensure that both male and female voters were well represented amongst the office bearers. The association dealt with the political activities of the Unionist Party in Aberdeen North Division, with ward committees to attend to the affairs of the various electoral wards there. Candidates to represent the Unionist Party at elections were recommended by the Political Committee of the Association, but their selection was made by a general meeting of members.
