Activity | Harry Stuart, the son of John Stuart (or Stewart), a farmer in Birse, was born in 1801 and graduated MA from Marischal College, Aberdeen, in 1820. He was licensed to preach in 1824 and was presented to the parish of Oathlaw in Angus in 1836. He was joint founder, with Prince Albert, of the Association for Improving the Agricultural Labourers’ Dwellings, and was a benefactor of Marischal College. He died unmarried in Oathlaw in 1880. |
