EpithetQuantity surveyors, Aberdeen
ActivityJames Shankley set up business as a chartered quantity surveyor in West Craibstone Street, Aberdeen, in 1949. Though he moved premises several times, in 1960 he was established at 22 Bridge Street in the city where he remained until 1980. In that year the business seems to have been acquired by John McBain, and it remained McBains Quantity Surveyors, except for a short period around 1985 during which it was known as John McBain, Shankley, Dunne and Partners, until 1999. The business moved to 40 Union Terrace in 1985. It changed its name to McBain Cormack in 1999, and still trades under this name at the Union Terrace address (2002).
