ActivityAlexander Cooper Barker set himself up as a manufacturer and later as a merchant in Aberdeen in the late 1850s or early 1860s. He died in the city in 1892. His trust, disposition and settlement, drawn up in 1890 (with two later codicils), appointed as trustees in 1894 Alexander Gibb, wholesale warehouseman, George Christie Leslie, manufacturer, and James Crichton of Messrs. J and G Millar, Sandilands Works, and Arthur David Morice, advocate, all in Aberdeen. Arthur Morice was dead by 1894, but the surviving trustees continued with the work of the trust.
