ActivityThe Triple Kirks complex was built shortly after the Disruption (1843) for the three Free Church of Scotland congregations from the City churches. The congregation of the Free East Church had belonged previously to the East Church of St Nicholas. In 1900 the congregation adhered in its entirety to the United Free Church of Scotland; in 1921 it united with Belmont Street United Free Church to form the East and Belmont Street United Free Congregation, and from 1929 to 1972 was the East and Belmont Church of Scotland. In 1973 the congregation united with the congregation of the South Church to form St Mark’s Church in the former South Church, Rosemount Viaduct.
