Activity | Henriette Ontrop was from Breda in the Netherlands, one of two daughters of a Colonel in the Dutch Army. She married Robert Smart whom she met in the Dutch East Indies, and came to Aberdeen in 1931. She lived at 11 St. Swithin Street, Aberdeen, and worked for the Aberdeen Netherlands Welfare Association and in aid of Dutch servicemen during the Second World War. Once Holland was liberated, she then helped to organise the WRNS there. |
