Activity | Annie, daughter of Sir John Cass in Bradford, Yorkshire, married Weetman Dickinson Pearson Cowdray in 1881, and had two sons and a daughter. He, a businessman and politician, was created 1st Viscount Cowdray of Cowdray in 1916 and died in 1927, to be succeeded in the title by his elder son. She lived on for some time at Dunecht House, Aberdeenshire, and was a local benefactress. One of her most valuable projects was the rescue and part-restoration of the ruined Dunnottar Castle at Stonehaven. She died on 15 April 1932. |
