Person NameLeslie and Russell, printers; 1868-1889; Aberdeen
ActivityAround 1868 the Aberdeen printers George Leslie and James Russell set up a printing business in Crown Court and Union Street, Aberdeen. The business was quite a successful one, but in 1889 George Leslie left it and took on separate premises in the Adelphi, off Union Street, where there were several other printing firms. Around 1899 both the original partners sold their businesses: William Mutch bought the Union Street property, and P Wilkie bought the Adelphi premises and employed George Leslie and later his son, also George. Nothing else is known of James Russell: George Leslie seems to have died around 1909.
