ActivityThe engineering firm was founded in 1921 by Sir Murdoch MacDonald (1866-1957). The Inverness office was opened in 1927 as part of a national operation. The firm came to specialise in resources and development planning and undertakes projects in flood control, reclamation, harbour and estuary works, hydro-electric power, sewerage and road and railway bridges. In 1989 Mott, Hay and Anderson, consulting civil engineers merged with Sir M. MacDonald and Partners (Inverness) Ltd. and formed the Mott MacDonald Group Ltd.
