Activity | The British Association for the Advancement of Science was established in 1831 to present the latest scientific discoveries to the public and to debate their impact on people's lives. The British Association, or the BA, as it is often known, is responsible for the Annual Festival of Science and The National Week of Science, Engineering and Technology (or setWeek). It runs a youth section (BAYS), produces various publications, and organizes or participates in a wide range of schemes and events aimed at promoting the understanding and development of science and technology. The BA is a nationwide organisation with an open membership and regional officers in each of the thirteen governmental regions. |
