In burghs the Burgh Police (Scotland) Act, 1892 (Vict. 55 & 56, c. 55) and later the Public Health (Scotland) Act, 1897 (60 & 61 Vict., c. 38) emphasised the need for the appointment of a sanitary inspector. |
