ActivityTayside Fire Brigade was established on 16 May 1975 on the creation of Tayside Regional Council. The Fire Brigade was an amalgamation of the Angus Area Fire Brigade and the Perth and Kinross Fire Brigade. By 1996 the Brigade had 25 stations throughout Tayside including four volunteer stations. In 1979 the Dundee and Perth fire controls were centralised at Brigade Headquarters in Dundee. In 1984 all records and mobilising procedures had been computerised. In the early 1990's a new Command and Control Centre was opened in Macalpine Road in Dundee to control all call handling and mobilising. In 1996 Tayside Fire Brigade came under the control of a Joint Board covering the former Tayside Region.
