ActivityIn 1797 David Scott, weaver in Hawkhill near Dundee, bought a flax weaving property. Upon the death of David Scott, junior, the business passed to his sons James and William Scott. In 1871 this partnership dissolved and the business continued by James Scott who, together with his three eldest sons managed the partnership of James Scott and Sons. Branches of the firm were set up in New York, Calcutta and Brazil. In 1949 the Mid Wynd Holding Company was formed.
