ActivityBroughty Ferry Curling Club was formed on 20th February 1871 with Lord Dalhousie as Patron and Joseph Grimmond of Carbet Castle as first President. One of the club's first actions was to join the Royal Caledonian Curling Club. The first curling pond was made of clay but proved unsuccessful. The pond was later concreted. Women were first admitted to the club in 1877. In 1900 a new thin ice pond was constructed. The first clubhouse was licensed in 1904 and a new clubhouse built in 1909.
