ActivityThe first school of Marist Brothers in the British Isles opened in London in 1853. The Marist Brothers took up residence to teach in Dundee in August 1860 in a house on William Street and opened their first school in two rooms underneath St. Andrew's Church, Nethergate. Later, school accommodation was provided at St. Mary's Church. In 1869 the Brothers had purchased Forebank House and in 1881, by which time the Brothers were teaching three expanding schools, an agreement was made to extend it in order to teach and board pupils and to lodge teachers.
