ActivitySelkirk Hockey Club was formed in 1928 at a meeting held in the Selkirk Institute, with a Mens' and Ladies' section. There had already at the time been a Selkirk Ladies Hockey Club. The Club was to be administered by an Honorary President; Honorary Vice Presidents; President and Vice President (who were to be ladies or gentlemen on alternate years); Secretary; Treasurer; Captains and Vice Captains. Initially they used the Selkirk Cricket Club grounds. The club colours were red shirts and blue shorts. Members were to pay 1/- at home matches (with another 1/- for tea). Funds for the two sections were to be kept separate. Subscriptions for the men were fixed at 10/-. There was to be an annual dance in December.
