ActivityMelrose Presbyterial Committee of the Women's Foreign Mission of the Church of Scotland was established prior to 1928. The Constitution of the Women's Foreign Mission was approved by the General Assembly in 1930, where it was stated that there should be a Women's Foreign Mission Committee in every Presbytery, and that they should be responsible for securing candidates and fundraising. The Committee was to report to the Assembly's Foreign Mission Committee. A member was to be appointed by each congregation within the Presbytery, who was also to be a member of the Presbyterial Council of the Woman's Guild, and there was to be a representative of the Girls' Association. The Committee was to meet at least half-yearly. All the meetings were to open and close with prayer.
