Brief Description | Loop dagger in iron and brass, with leather sheath. Dagger appears to have been made from a broken iron spear, and then repurposed into a dagger by attaching to a bronze loop handle. The handle is decorated with incised short lines and 'X' shapes. The blade is of a sharply pointed leaf shape with two asymmetrical backwards pointing barbs, as well as smaller notched barbs on both side of the blade behind the main point. The dark brown/ black leather/ hide sheath is wrapped around the top as well as at the tip with a strip of fine plaited leather. There is a belt loop for suspension at the top. |
