Sittter faces slight right, and is wearing a large-lapelled coat, waistcoat, upright-collared shirt, and large bow-tie. Figure is an older male with side-parted hair swept to the right, and a mutton-chops style beard. The bust sits atop a square-footed pedestal inscribed 'J. Matthews Duncan M.D'.
