| Object History Note | The donor has provided the following information: "This was made for my five year old daughter. An Inuit friend cut out the cloth and the cover and supervised my sewing. The ruff was made in the local Women's Co-operative Fur Workshop from wolf skin with Arctic fox round the face, muskrat at the wrists and more wolf round the hem. This was standard Western Arctic women's wear - far warmer than anything one could buy. My daughter played outside quite happily in temperatures of 40 below. Everyone had a new cotton print cover at Christmas and at Easter." The object was displayed in the first exhibition ('100 Curiosities') at King's Museum which opened in April 2011. |
