Royal charter of foundation of Bishop Dunbar's Hospital Charter of mortification and confirmation by King James V, incorporating Bishop Gavin Dunbar's charter of foundation of the Hospital and his mortification for that purpose of £100 Scots annually from the revenues of the Burgh of Aberdeen derived from titles acquired by him from John Lord Erskine. The charter sets out in fine detail the construction of the hospital, the arrangements for its management, and the qualifications to be met be the twelve poor men to be supported by it. 24 February 1531
