Includes photographs of SS River Clyde at Dardanelles and beached at ?Siddal Bahu, c 1919.  Annotated on envelope (discarded) by Ann Philip: 'The sides of this ship could be lowered for disembarking … berthed at Dardenelly ? 1st World War. Prof. Refers to this ship in his private letters.' Note also to see page 15 of Lockhart's typed lecture 'Mediterranean Reminiscences.'

Other vessels identified in the collection include HMS Victory in Portsmouth harbour, HMS Wellington, HMS Egmont, and the French armoured cruiser, 'Ernest Renan'</dc:description>
